I’m really enjoying looking at grad schools. It makes the whole “getting the phuck out of Florida” so much more real. Having to narrow down my list is going to be the hard part though. Too many good schools in good locations out there.

crashformer replied to your post: No caffeine update I feel that way when I tell people I don’t eat meat, intense reactions and some people are very angry with it. Yep, no idea what people are thinking. I don’t eat the flesh of animals that were senselessly and brutally murdered. I don’t drink the milk that comes out of another animal of a totally different species… And...

No caffeine update
It’s been roughly a week since I’ve had caffeine or coffee. I’m not going to say it hasn’t been rough because then I’d be lying. However, it hasn’t been nearly as bad as people make it out to be. When I tell people I gave up caffeine I get this intense reactions. It’s like people can’t imagine a life without caffeine.  I was pretty tired and...

Growing Up
I still feel like I’m young. Thinking of moving on and upward in life is weird to me, but it’s something everyone eventually has to face.  I spent a good amount of time yesterday looking into grad schools for exercise physiology. The ASEP has a page with a list of all the universities in the country with grad programs for this so it made it a lot easier. So far I have a short list of...

The instructor for my sports nutrition class asked that we all give up one thing we eat/drink excessively for the entire semester. This got me to thinking because I don’t consume any one thing (that isn’t nutritious) in an excess amount… besides caffeinated coffee.  I’ve toyed around with giving up caffeine and coffee in the past. My teacher’s request got me to...

I was feeling saucy today and wanted to do something new. I went to the Winter Park Farmer’s Market (right near Park Ave) and it was incredibly legit. Lots of different vendors were around offering lots of good stuff. What I liked the most was the huge selection of locally grown vegetables and fruits, and they were all relatively cheap (cheaper than the same stuff at Whole Foods). And the...

Looking Ahead
This day concludes the first week of my Spring semester; my last semester of classes as an undergrad at UCF. My initial impressions: -It’s going to be a balls-out semester -A major paper or project in all four of my classes -Tests that probably won’t be very easy at all -I’m going to learn a lot It’s going to be a toughie. I’m not worried though, because it seems...

What a day
It’s been a freakin’ long day -Up at 5 to work the 5:45-10 shift -Classes 10:30-4:00 -Got home, poured some coffee down my gullet while getting kitted up for a ride -Little over 2 hour ride (finished in the dark. Not preferred but do what you gotta do) -Various deeds to be done around the home including cooking dinner and then cleaning up after -8:15 and finally sitting down and...

I made my return to bicycle racing this morning. The last time I put my carbon wheels on my bike and pinned a number on my jersey I found myself in the hospital with a broken clavicle, which was just over 2 months ago. And the last crit I’ve done? I don’t even know when that was.  Today was just a “training crit” but it was a little more than just a usual training crit.....

Moving upward and onward
My older sister is moving on Monday. Her boyfriend landed a sick job in Kansas City. They’re packing up and moving on towards new opportunities and I have to commend them both on getting out of here. I’ll be honest, I didn’t see her getting out of this house any time soon, but I’m proud to see how far she’s come over the past 9 months. It’s been pretty great.  Their big move has made me realize...

So, I had quite an awesome ride today. I did what I do a lot on Sundays.. rode out to Windermere to do the ride with the group through the hills of Clermont, then back to Windy and then home. No one did the hill route, though, so I did it alone.  I got to Grassy Lake and I was feeling squirrelly… there is a road out there called Turkey Farm Road and I know that it’s dirt but...
